Intermediate Yoga & Meditation

INTERMEDIATE YOGA & MEDITATION

7 days to develop awareness and subtlety

2018 dates TBC

‘Yoga is not about touching your toes, it is what you learn on the way down’ – Jigar Gor

A beautiful opportunity to develop your yoga and meditation practice in an idyllic setting with the Riverheart team.

Join us in the riverside shala, where your daily practice is accompanied by the sound of bird song and flowing water.

Our teachers have each developed their own individual style and approach, and will draw on a range of practices including Iyengar, Hatha, Vinyassa and Yin yoga. But these are just labels – the most important part of our practices together is that they come from the heart, and encourage all students to reconnect with their own body-heart-mind in an authentic way.

Each guest will be supported to develop a deeper awareness of their own needs and potentials, whether that’s exploring a new asana for the first time, or understanding the more subtle aspects of a particular posture or practice.

Meditation sessions draw on a range of traditions, including Buddhist, Sufi, and earth-based spirituality practices, and the retreat includes a yoga philosophy workshop each day to help us better understand how our practise on the mat can be transferred into daily life off the mat.

Food is vegetarian and sugar-free with vegan options for each meal, cooked with love and using only organic and locally produced ingredients wherever possible. Allergies and intolerances can be catered for – please inform us in advance so we can best prepare to care for your needs. Tea, herbal infusions and fresh coffee are self-service and available throughout the day.

'Samantha is a person who truly makes you feel welcome. She shines bright and her presence calms your down, even when she doesn't say anything. You can actually feel her loving kindness presence. In our yoga practice I really enjoyed her soft and peaceful voice and she carried us nicely through the whole practice. I think she honestly loves what she is doing and teaches directly from her heart. It's so incredible when you meet someone whose presence actually exudes sensations. I can highly recommend Samm's classes and retreats, she really makes you feel you belong there, just the way you are.' - Janina Tainio, Retreat Guest 2017
