This 5 month course will give you the tools to live a more peaceful, content and joyful life.

 

Grounded in the practices of soul writing, mindfulness and meditation, the course will help you to connect with your true self, discover what lights up your heart and develop the self-confidence and faith to start living to your full potential.

 

Over these 5 months, you can expect to:

Each week, you will meet for 90 minutes online with the Riverheart online community, and together we will develop a practice that you can draw on easily in your daily life.

 

This is a diverse course perfect for those with a curious mind – rather than working with one single discipline we instead experiment with a range of practices, discovering what suits us from moment to moment. Each element is grounded in Riverheart’s history, and is supported by over seven years of practice with students and teachers from all around the world.

 

We work in this multi-faceted way, because each of you is unique, and the practices that will suit you will vary at different times in your life. By learning how to adapt and integrate a range of techniques, you will develop the tools to become the master of your own wellbeing, with a host of tools at your disposal that you can apply easily through life’s twists and turns.

What is Soul Writing?

 

I have a belief in the power of words. In the sacred energy they contain. Not that long ago, slaves were forbidden from reading and writing – not only because they might share information, but because the use of language empowers and ennobles the human spirit.

 

Since the beginning of time, language has been recognized as the key to freedom. In Sufi traditions, words are used in meditation – the 99 names of God (Light, Compassion etc.) are repeated over and over again until their energy penetrates the core of the body. In the Vedic and Buddhist philosophies, Sanskrit or Pali words are chanted as mantras - the vibrational frequency of these words thought to heal the body and open gateways to a higher form of consciousness.

 

So words are powerful. Once used, they cannot be taken back, and the imprint they leave on the world continues to resonate long after the humans who uttered them have passed away.

 

Words are a vehicle for our intention; by working with words, we can discover the energy and dreams that too often lie hidden in the subconscious. So this work is not about spelling or grammar, it’s not about ‘being a writer’ or needing to be ‘good’ with language. There is a pathway, ancient and powerful, that moves from the soul through the hand and out onto the page – this is the path we will rediscover together, this is where the magic happens.

 

When I mentor students, be they seasoned writers or complete novices, there is always a form of writing therapy to what we do – how could it be any other way? You cannot pour yourself onto a page if the inner censor is ruling the mind. We work with affirmations, play with the subconscious, and challenge ourselves to write without thinking. What emerges is often surprising and always life affirming. The creative voice that reveals itself is raw and beautiful. The actions that are taken as a result of this process are powerful – many students have gone on to new careers, new areas of study, and new ways of living that bring them more joy and contentment.

 

Writing is an act of creation. It is a service to ourselves and the world. Our dream children need space and nurturing, a chance to climb onto the page without criticism or censorship. This is the kind of process I teach. This is Soul Writing.

Structure

 

The course runs Oct 5th 2023 – March 14th 2024 and is divided into 4 modules of 6 weeks.

 

Each module builds on the core practices of Soul Writing, Mindfulness and Meditation.

 

Modules 2-4 also introduce one of the ancient wisdom practices - Pranayama (breathwork), Energy Work and Mantra (chanting).

 

Two bonus sessions of Yoga Nidra will be offered – dates to be announced.

 

The sessions are held via Zoom, Thursday evenings 20:00 – 21:30 CET (19:00 – 20:30 GMT)

 

The Riverheart youtube channel has a variety of videos that will support and develop the skills learned during this course.

What is The Riverheart Online Community?

 

Started in 2020 in response to the first wave of lock downs, the Riverheart online community took the practices that had previously been taught on retreats and in-person workshops, and shared them online with students from across the world. Together, we practiced soul writing, meditation, pranayama, yoga and energy work, forged friendships and discovered the healing power of connecting with one another, even remotely.

 

Now in its fourth year, the Riverheart online community will meet again through this five-month course, bringing together the core practices that have been the signature of this group’s work to discover, heal and connect.

 

The Riverheart online community is a supportive and safe space where you are welcome just as you are, and no one is left out.

Pricing

 

In order to make this course available to everyone, we are offering the course on a Pay What You Can basis.

 

The suggested price for the five-month course is 200–300 EUR (the equivalent of 40-60 EUR per month).

 

If you are able to pay more than the suggested price, you will be supporting another member who is not able to pay the full amount – thank you for this :)

 

If you are not able to pay the suggested price you are very welcome to pay whatever is affordable for you, and might like to consider any way in which you can ‘pay it forward’ – this means considering what resources you have available to you – not necessarily financial – that you can share with others so that they might benefit, too. This could be as simple as baking a cake for an elderly neighbour, or volunteering an hour per week at a local charity. In this way, we are all part of one connected web, using whatever gifts and abilites are available to us to support one another – thank you for being a part of this :)
