1. Insurance
Travel insurance for all of our retreats is mandatory. Unfortunately we cannot allow participation unless proof of travel insurance is sent to us before.
We highly recommend that you add “cancel for any reason” to your policy. Although normal trip cancellation will cover you for illness or injury, or for a travel companion’s illness, injury or death, it is limited to these. With “cancel for any reason” you will receive a percentage of all pre-paid costs. With this coverage if something comes up, a wedding, a new job opportunity, etc. or if Riverheart Retreats has to cancel due to staff injury or illness or other unforeseen reasons, you will be covered.

2. Payment
A 30% deposit for individuals and 50% deposit for groups is required for all bookings, with the remainder paid within 30 days of the retreat start date - see Cancellation Policy for more details. Please contact us directly if you would like to set up a payment plan - Riverheart Retreats is committed to making creative and healing arts accessible to all, and is open to offering a payment plan in certain situations.
3. Late Arrivals / Departures
Riverheart Retreats organises an airport transfer service for 40 EUR per person per journey, departing Malaga airport / train station at 2pm on the retreat start day, and departing the retreat centre at 12 noon on the last day. Guests are recommended to organise their travel to coincide with this. Guests arriving or departing outside these times are required to make their own travel arrangements to and from Riverheart – taxi numbers can be provided upon request at time of booking; however please note the centre does not open for check in before 2pm and closes at 7pm, and check out is at 12 noon.
4. Disclaimer
All Riverheart Retreat guests are sent a disclaimer at the time of booking, which needs to be signed and returned either via email or in person on the retreat start day. We regret that guests without a signed disclaimer will not be able to stay onsite for the duration of the retreat. Riverheart is a beautiful outdoor space, with two rivers and semi-wild gardens in the mountains of Andalucia – we ask all guests to be aware of their surroundings and to take full responsibility for themselves and their possessions at all times.
5. Equipment
All basic equipment is provided, however if you have particular yoga equipment or art materials you’d like to bring please do so. We also recommend bringing something to write in – journaling is a key part of all of our retreats. Guests on our writing retreats can choose to bring a notebook or their laptop – although we welcome you to take advantage of the opportunity to unplug and be off-line while you’re with us.

An on-site laundry service is available, charged at 5 EUR per shopping bag, with a two-day turnaround. Alternatively feel free to bring eco-friendly detergent for hand washing in the bathroom basins.
7. Spending Money
All workshops and food are included, however you may want to take advantage of one of our onsite masseurs, book a personal yoga or writing tutorial, or try a taster session. These can be booked at time of booking your retreat, or during the retreat if spaces are still available. These are charged at 40EUR per hour. The nearby town of Coin has local ceramics and an artisanal market running on Sundays, so you may want to bring extra spending money for any time you choose to spend off-site outside the retreat workshop times.
8. Multi-retreat Options
Guests wanting to stay for two or more retreats in a row are welcome to make use of the Riverheart facilities in between retreat times on a self-catering basis. Our teachers are often onsite during these times too, so it can be a wonderful way to depen your practice – whether that’s with art, yoga, writing or simply to extend your holiday and enjoy some time off. Please contact us to discuss payment options and discounts available.

- Water bottle (filtered water is available from the outdoor kitchen at all times)
- Sunscreen
- Insect repellent
- First aid kit – including treatment for stings and bites
- Raincoat
- Walking shoes (for retreats offering location-specific workshops, see retreat info or contact us to check if your retreat includes this option)
- Personal toiletries & medication
- Eco-friendly laundry detergent for hand washing (unless using on-site laundry service, see below)
- Headlamp / torch
- Time keeper – while we’re keen to encourage you to unplug for your retreat, a time keeper is useful especially for early morning sessions. Bring a phone, watch or travel clock.
